Content Policy

LawyersOnline.pk exists to help people understand the law in Pakistan. To keep it useful and safe, everything that appears on the website follows the standards below. They apply to our own team, to contributing lawyers, and to visitors who send questions or comments.

Articles, Urdu articles, and blog posts are written by our legal team and by contributing lawyers. Work from a contributing lawyer is reviewed by an administrator, and it is published only after it is approved. If it is rejected, the writer receives a note explaining what to change.

If an article that is already live is edited by a contributing lawyer, it goes back for review before the new version is shown.

Every article and blog post should be:

• accurate, and based on the law as it stands when it is written, with the relevant Act, section, or case named where possible;
• written in plain language that a person without legal training can follow;
• original, or properly credited if it uses someone else’s words;
• general in nature, and not written as advice for one named person or case;
• free of client secrets, private details, and anything the writer has no right to share;
• free of advertising, promotion of a person’s or firm’s services, and paid or hidden endorsements;
• illustrated only with images the writer has the right to use.

Questions are read by our team before they appear. A question may be published, with its answer, so that other people can learn from it.

• Ask about a legal topic, and give enough detail for the question to make sense.
• Do not include web links or phone numbers. They are not accepted.
• Do not share private details that you would not want the public to see, such as ID card numbers, home addresses, bank details, or full case files.
• Do not name or accuse other people in a way that could harm them.
• We do not give personal legal advice through questions. Answers are general information.

Comments are welcome on articles, blog posts, and questions. New comments from visitors and guest accounts are checked before they appear. Replies from lawyers and staff may appear at once.

• Keep to the topic, and be polite. Disagreement is fine. Abuse is not.
• Do not include web links or phone numbers.
• Do not post spam, advertising, or offers of services.
• Do not post the same comment again and again.

We will not publish, and may remove at any time, content that:

• is unlawful, or encourages someone to break the law;
• is abusive, hateful, threatening, or attacks a person because of their religion, sect, ethnicity, gender, or background;
• is false and damaging to a person’s reputation, or invades their privacy;
• could interfere with a court case, or that shows disrespect to a court or its orders;
• shares someone else’s copyrighted work without permission;
• contains personal information about other people without their consent;
• is spam, a scam, or a way to collect money or personal data;
• pretends to come from us, or from another person or organisation.

Our administrators review questions and comments and decide whether to approve, reject, or remove them. We do not have to give a reason, and we cannot promise that every question will be published or answered.

If a person breaks this policy more than once, or seriously, we may block their comments, close their account, or stop accepting their submissions.

If you think something on the website is wrong, out of date, or unfair, please tell us. Write to [email protected] with the address of the page and a short explanation. We will review it, and we may correct it, add a note, or take the page down.

If you believe that content on the website copies your work, or that it shares your private information, contact us with the page address and details. We will look into it promptly.

Advertisements on the website are provided by Google AdSense and are chosen by Google. Videos are provided by YouTube. They are separate from our editorial content, and they do not influence what our legal team writes.

We may update this policy as the website grows. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions.
